Monday – 3/26 – Mile 52.6 to 68.4 (total 15.8)
We woke up to ice on our tent, the ground and the horse trough.

These strange trees had acorns buried in their bark. What creature does this??
It was less windy this day. And we enjoyed our first on-trail trail magic from a lady named Ice. She got her name when she was hiking and a guy said she was as refreshing as ice water. She gave us gluten free cake, Cheetos, and homemade trail mix with chocolate covered coffee beans.

Iceβs trail magic for us hiker trash.

Ghostly manzanita with new growth after a fire.

Obviously not the blog project…..
We arrived at Rodriguez Road Water Tank to camp and were greeted by a dude who pointed to where the spigot was and invited us to join the rest of the group around the fire. We didn’t know it then, but this was our first time meeting Hulk. We would run into him and his wife, Lite Bright, several times later on the trail. Again, we were too tired to join the other hikers by the fire, so we just set up our tent near the water tank and called it a night.
Love seeing the photos and reading about your adventure! Seems like ya’ll have been gone forever. We miss you π
Can you believe itβs been over 2 months!? The time has flown by, but we do miss our family and friends. β€
Your photographs of the mountains are truly moving. I am brought right into your PCT world like being beamed up into the space ship! Beautifully composed, lyrical; it makes me very happy that all of this is yours to behold in person!!
